The annual Fristatt community picnic was held on June 10 on the grounds of Trinity Lutheran School.

Ian Standefer took a whack at ringing the bell on the one-story high hammer pile driver game at the Freistatt Lutheran Picnic in Freistatt on Friday. Ian, the son of Nicki and Andy Standefer of Mt. Vernon, will start third grade at Trinity in the fall.

Cobie Kleiboeker, 2, had no trouble making her choice as to which ducks she wanted in the duck pond at the Freistatt picnic, handing them to Shanna Jelinek, at left, for her prize. Following Cobie through the entertainment venues was her cousin, Kendyl Haywood, at center.

Baked goods were once again a prime attraction at the Trinity Lutheran Picnic in Freistatt on Friday. Ronnie Wright and Tammy Hilton waited in line to take home baked good delicacies as Doris Meyer made change for them.

Eddie Valen and his band provided classic 1950s and early 1960s rock 'n' roll for entertainment at the Trinity Lutheran Picnic on Friday. Valen, at right, was joined by sax player Jimmy Raschele, at center, Bill Lowery on guitar, Brian burns on bass guitar, Lloyd Hicks on drums and Dion Sancoucie on keyboard. The picnic began with a first, as Legionnaires from the Hubert H. Kleiboeker American Legion Post in Freistatt presented the colors.

David Chapman unloaded freshly cooked bratwurst from the grill for picnickers at the Trinity Lutheran Picnic in Freistatt on Friday. Hamburgers, homemade pies and beverages offered classic eating fare for the event.
