After the most significant snow fall in two years, young people and their parents broke out the sleds and saucers and descended on the sledding hill at Monett's South Park for some good old-fashioned winter fun that has continued all week.

By late afternoon on Feb. 26, around 50 people gathered on the sledding hill of Monett's South Park to enjoy the best snow fall in two years. Nothing captures the thrill of sledding like a group experience and a planned pile-up, as the group above formed a train of sliding saucers that careened over an elevated snow bank. Joining in the pile-up were Canyon Lundy, Nathan Webb, Barry Lenhart, Cameron Torpack, Jared Kaler, Trey Inman, Tim Curry, Blake Sperry, Gavin Austin, Zack Johnson, Cameron Cody and Jace Stow. On their way down the sledding hill. The snow was not very deep, making the surface better for saucers and innertubes, like those above, for scooting across the surface. (Times photos by Murray Bishoff)
