Carthage - Joplin Regional Stockyards

Cow and Bull Auction 9/21/16

Receipts: 550 Last Week: 908 Last Year: 756

Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold 3.00-5.00 lower and
slaughter bulls sold 4.00-6.00 lower. Continued over supply of cows available
to packers is reducing both demand and prices for slaughter cows. The offering
included a light to moderate supply of bred cows and a moderate supply cow/calf
pairs with most being young cows. Supply was moderate and demand light for
slaughter classes.
