Carthage - Joplin Regional Stockyards: Cow and Bull Auction 12/17/14

Receipts:  1004    Last Week:  718    Last Year:  960

   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold steady and slaughter bulls
sold 1.00 lower. A high percent of the offering went to slaughter. The supply
of bred cows and cow/calf pairs was light. Supply and demand were moderate for
slaughter classes.

Note: Due to the holiday’s the next regular cow/and bull sale will be held
on January 7th 2015.

   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium Large 1-2  2-5 yrs 1250-1330 lb cows w/145-220 lb
calves and a few rebred 2800.00-3100.00; short and solid mouth to aged 1100-
1345 lb cows w/185-300 lb calves 1900.00-2500.00. Medium 1-2  broken mouth
900 lb cow w/newborn calf 1000.00 per pair.
